District 2 County Council

Protecting Our Past, Ensuring Our Future.

I am committed first and foremost to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  My eternal prayer is that He places His words in my mouth, opens my heart to feel His love, guides my hands to do His work, and places my feet on the path He wants me to follow.  I am nothing and can do nothing without Him.

I am committed to my family.  The greatest decision I have made in my life was to ask my wife to marry me.  She has supported me even when I made bad decisions but has been the first to pat me on the back when I have done right.  Our greatest accomplishment is our three boys.  They are three hardworking, well-mannered, Christian young men that make me proud to call them “My Sons.”

I am committed to my community and the citizens of Newberry County.  This is a community where people know each other, look out for each other, and work together for the better of the community. This is also a community where people want to raise their children and grow old.  That is the type of community I want for Newberry County.  What builds these types of communities? It starts with the people.  People who want to be a part of a community.  Next comes the entities that support these people such are our emergency services, our schools, our infrastructure, and most certainly our faith-based institutions.  Our county is a gem in the Midlands area.  If you look at the counties around us they all seem to be missing something; no industry, no jobs, poor performing schools, over-strained infrastructures, high-crime rates.  We have our issues to overcome but we are still a community of relatively committed, close-knit citizens.  The little town of Whitmire is known as “The Pearl of the Piedmont.”  I see Newberry County as “The Pearl of the Midlands.”  It will take work and people with a vision to lead Newberry County.
